Shamanic Drum-Making Workshop

This workshop will show you how to create your very own shamanic drum from traditional raw materials and also includes a shamanic journey (similar to a guided mediation) to meet the spirits of your drum, after you have made it.

Includes all materials to create a 15" frame drum with beater. Please note that this workshop uses animal products that have been ethically sourced and a full explanation of honouring their use within the context of sacred items will be given. The frames are made by the same person (also a shamanic practitioner) who sources and prepares the animal skins from a local forest in the Lake District. The drum differs from the picture shown (which is the drum I made for myself a few years ago) but is of a similar style. The frames we will be using on this workshop are pine and 12-sided; the animal is deer. For an additional surcharge of £10, a round ash frame may be ordered instead.

This workshop can be taught to groups, subject to minimum attendance numbers, and also on a one-to-one basis according to individual needs. Deposits are required at least a month in advance of the workshop date so that raw materials can be ordered and frames constructed.
